"Sakura was born with great potential and rare natural talent, considered to be a miracle equal to that of Rin with even the same magical energy level as her. It surpasses the norm of "natural talent" or "inborn skill" possessed by others, and due to that she would be in danger without the protection of a magi house, can be equated to a curse in a way. She was given to the Matou house to act as their heir for this reason, but Zouken did not intend to use her for that purpose. For the purpose of acclimatization, she has to undergo constant torture in the basement of the Matou household. The way they pass on their magecraft is not a study, but constant, lifelong torture due to Zouken's preference. Taught to the body rather than the mind, she is forced through immense pain and stress constantly for her "education." The changes are so extensive as to change her hair color, eye color, and every cell in her body so that they no longer reflect her Tohsaka heritage."

As mentioned in the above summary, Sakura is a mage of natural born talent. Her mana pools are absolutely endless due to being subjected to the Matou family’s seal known as a Magic Crest, a series of Magical Circuits that a mage uses to place all their learned spells throughout their lives and pass it down to their successor (usually their first-born child). While not being of the Matou bloodline, the Crest Worms implanted in Sakura are unique since they have the fragments of the Holy Grail summoned in the 4th Grail War as component materials. After an incubation period of almost 11 years, the worms have spread themselves through her entire body. Her Element was changed to the water alignment with her acclimation to the Matou magecraft, so she cannot display her true talent. Her Crest Worms will feed on any excess magical energy she circulates before she can use a spell, leaving her unable to even cast any in most cases. While most of the Crest Worms are purged from her body, due to them devouring it on a constant basis her entire life, she is an incapable mage. 𝐇𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐛𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭, 𝐬𝐨 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲!

IMAGINARY NUMBERS : Sakura possesses a unique magecaft element (along with the element of Water), also known as Hollow. An incredibly rare ability that is effective against beings made out of Ether, in other words, spirits. It doesn’t work on things that have a physical body. Along with the Matou family’s teachings, it’s possible to capture and imprison a spirit into another dimension where Shadows live, and once she becomes the premature version of Angra Mainyu, she can even use this ability against humans. Not much else is said about this in canon, and Sakura has never been taught to use it.

DARK SAKURA : Since Sakura was actually being turned into a sort of fake “Holy Grail” by Zouken, he can turn her into a premature Angra Mainyu at his will, which is an evil being that resides within the Holy Grail. However, once she regains consciousness and rejects Zouken’s orders, she becomes “Dark Sakura”. She has access to the infinite amount of magical energy in the holy grail in this state and can, therefore, use powerful magic simply from what little she knew of magecraft. Once she’s in this state she is bound by contract to the spirit of Angra Mainyu, since she serves as a host for him, and therefore cannot revert unless the contract is severed in some way. After the events of Heaven's Feel, Dark Sakura is rendered completely dormant once Zouken is dead. Dark Sakura is apart of her and occasionally shows face when Sakura is in a negative mood. However, Sakura can still use some of Dark Sakura's abilities which are listed below:

Black Shadow:

Shadow Giants: Are familiars that Sakura can summon with the usage of her Hollow magecraft. Under normal circumstances, they are extremely small, but when her powers are augmented by Angra Mainyu and the Holy Grail, their size increases vastly and they start acting as a materialized curse and are hard to control. Luckily with Dark Sakura dormant, they are hardly threatening. Sakura uses them behind the scenes to complete small tasks.

ABSORPTION : Under extreme duress, she can cast a spell using the Matou "absorption" nature magecraft, and it shoots like a spear, stabbing and entangling the part hit to drain the person of energy.

Alignment: Daimonia. Throughout Heaven's Feel, Sakura is subjected to varying amounts of mental and physical abuse— she's quite miserable and it shows. But when she realizes that there are people that love her, and the boy she loves risks his own life for her happiness... she can finally, genuinely smile and look toward the future where she can live the life she's always wanted by his side.
